Anna Cook Kendrick was born in Portland, Maine on the 9th August , 1985. Her mother was an accountant and her father was a history teacher. Anna was raised by her brother Michael who was an actor, and later an actor. Anna Kendrick started auditioning for Broadway shows when she was a teenager in Deering High School, Portland. When she was only 12 and her first major stage role was High Society. Although she was just a little girl the performance earned her numerous nominations and awards. She was an actress in A Little Night Music as an actress in a part-time capacity. She made her film debut at Camp in the same year, aged fifteen. Kendrick was nominated for her performance, as well as for Rocket Science 2007, which she starred in at age of fifteen.
