Chef Antonia Lofaso's culinary creations are an invitation to explore deep into her inner world. The curiosity in her grew after she left the Long Island suburbs to explore the diverse culture of Los Angeles. But what remains throughout her menu is an unifying view of the future, while also reminiscing about the old. Scopa Italian Roots is a restaurant that was founded by Lofaso in 2013. She opened it because of her Italian-American background. Lofaso has been praised for her unique interpretation of Italian dishes. Patrons have described Scopa as an indispensable neighbourhood staple, where Lofaso always serves food that is inviting delicious and unquestionably satisfying. Lofaso trained under legendary chefs and absorbed their sophisticate techniques however she wasn't afraid of taking risks that were too high to honor her instincts. She quickly climbed the ranks of Wolfgang Puck's Spago and was able to revamp several high-profile kitchens located in Los Angeles while working closely with a variety of famous celebrities. Lofaso along with Sal Aurora partnered in 2011 to create Black Market Liquor Bar Studio City. Lofaso has found her home in Black Market, and through her partnerships she has created. Lofaso was able to enjoy the freedom to create the work she longed for through this partnership. Black Market's goal is not to limit itself by any means. Lofaso has teamed up with Penguin to release The Busy Mom's Cookbook 100 recipes for quick Delicious homemade Meals in 2012. This cookbook also tells about her struggles as a mother of Xea and pursuing her studies at her school, the French Culinary Institute. Lofaso states that her love in cooking is the primary for her accomplishments. She continues to be in the know through keeping a keen watch on fashion trends and trends.
